Heaven's Gate

Heaven’s Gate is part of a former agricultural and livestock farm now used for re-homing dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats and small furries. Our brief for this project was to create a bespoke cattery in keeping with this traditional rural setting. Using materials similar to those at Wheal Alfred Farm to create a corporate feel to the client’s new facilities, the cattery caters for intake, isolation, families, strays and mother and kittens. Environmental considerations to energy usage have been allowed by implantation of solar hot water and wind turbine along with high quality insulation materials to conserve the energy used in the heating and running of the building. This facility is a stand-alone building with its own laundry, tray wash, food preps and external enclosures for families of cats. The existing farmhouse was also converted into staff accommodation housing two bedsits and three bedrooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.

We have been successful in obtaining planning permission for a new kennel unit to compliment the cattery, which will continue the theme already adopted by the National Animal Welfare Trust.
